We all understand how important exercise is for the body, mind, and spirit. What many do not realize is that if you are chronically ill, injured, sleep-deprived, on a caloric restrictive diet, it’s possible for you to be overtraining at a much lower level of physical activity. The consequences can have a profound impact on your overall health and wellbeing.
From the competitive runner, cyclist, exercise enthusiast that does CrossFit, weight training, high-intensity interval training, or the weekend warrior participating in a Tough Mudder all are at potential risk for overtraining.
It doesn’t take much to be on a downward spiral. It is estimated that 61% of all serious runners go through a period of overtraining in their career.
Increase Performance
Keep your body optimized to perform at peak levels for longer periods of time without becoming fatigued.
Decrease Recovery Time
Stimulate proper healing quicker so your body rejuvenates and is ready to go sooner than ever.
Avoid Injuries
Stay healthy and avoid common injuries that hold back performance and keep you from competing at a high level.
The key to recovery is to reduce or stop anything more than moderate physical activity for some time. How long depends on symptoms severity and how long you’ve been overtraining. Focus on gentle activities for recovery such as walking in nature, yoga, or massage. Address any underlying stress-induced HPA-Axis dysregulation, inflammation, gut dysbiosis, nutrient depletion, hormone imbalances, and oxidative stress. Get plenty of sleep and nap during the day. Ensure you do not restrict calories or diet once overtrained. Your body needs an adequate supply of macronutrients especially protein and micronutrients.
What is Overtraining Syndrome / Burnout?
Overtraining syndrome occurs when an athlete doesn’t adequately recover after repetitive intense training, and can include fatigue, declining performance and potential injury. It’s admirable to train hard to succeed in your chosen sport. Logging many miles, spending hours at the gym and working hard day after day can certainly help you achieve your athletic goals. But too much training without sufficient recovery can hinder your progress — and even lead to a decline in your performance.
There are two classifications for too much exercise: overreaching and overtraining.
Overreaching is muscle soreness above and beyond what you typically experience that occurs when you don’t sufficiently recover between workouts. Overreaching usually happens after several consecutive days of hard training and results in feeling run down. Luckily, the effects of overreaching can be easily reversed with rest.
Overtraining occurs when an athlete ignores the signs of overreaching and continues to train. Many athletes believe that weakness or poor performance signals the need for even harder training, so they continue to push themselves. This only breaks down the body further.
Symptoms and warning signs of overtraining
It may be hard to know when you’re overtraining. “It’s natural and expected to feel fatigued after challenging training sessions,” Dr. Goolsby says. “But feeling like you aren’t recovering between sessions or experiencing overall fatigue and difficulty pushing yourself during workouts can be indicators of overtraining.”
Training-related signs of overtraining
Unusual muscle soreness after a workout, which persists with continued training
Inability to train or compete at a previously manageable level
“Heavy” leg muscles, even at lower exercise intensities
Delays in recovery from training
Performance plateaus or declines
Thoughts of skipping or cutting short training sessions
Lifestyle-related signs of overtraining
Prolonged general fatigue
Increase in tension, depression, anger or confusion
Inability to relax
Poor-quality sleep
Lack of energy, decreased motivation, moodiness
Not feeling joy from things that were once enjoyable

I have had superior chirorartic care, thank you Dr. Marvin Arnsdorff (retired), Dr. Tara Miller (Family First Chiropratic) & Chripratic USA Dr. Murrin for 1/2 of my life. My schedule caused me to seek out a firm close to my work and home. I can say l have found the same superior care here as the other two locations mentioned herein. Great facilty and care.
The staff here is so helpful and so knowledgeable and kind. I feel both welcomed and supported by everyone that I encounter here. It’s been about 3 months so far and I am so glad to have started my chiropractic journey here!

Great staff and professionalism is fabulous. They greet you and make you feel at home. They know their patients by name. Mrs. Lexi and her colleagues are wonderful. They are very informative, nice and they make you feel like family. I would recommend Kirar Superior HealthCare as a great place for therapy without meds.
My experience with Kirar healthcare was amazing. The staff was very nice. I had a very bad headache stemming from my neck and when I called she said to come right in. The headache definitely improved after the treatment.
Thank you. Dr and staff.
Met some people here at my gym during a pop up event. Came here with a coupon for a consultation and Dr. Lexi was very kind and helpful. She seemed very knowledgeable and helped point out some trouble areas that was causing some of my discomfort.
Overall a good experience, clean and spacious facility and very nice staff.
Best chiropractic office I’ve been to. What I see is that they care about everyone starting off with greeting everyone that comes through the door to being very quick and sufficient with each and every client. The doctor seems to genuinely care about each and every clients recovery and even called me I. The evening to check to see how I was feeling after the visit. Thank you so much! I’m ready for the journey to being better.

Update: 4/21. They are the most amazing chiropractic office. I was on my way to the hospital because I was in severe pain yesterday and they got me in got me taken care of where I wasn’t hurting that much. The best group of people ever if you need chiropractic work from minor to major please check them out.
I’ve been thinking of trying chiropractor care for years, and this past November I became a patient at Kirar due to severe back pain. Daily activities are easier for me, and my back pain has drastically reduced. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner! Lexi is wonderful and I highly recommended her and the whole team.
I've been going here for 4 1/2 months. I've been very pleased with the success I've had with them when I had a very bad incident with sciatica to the point where I couldn't even walk. Not being able to get into a specialist for about 3 weeks, I turned to Kirar Healthcare for help.
Very glad for the results I've gotten. I have been faithful to go to all my appointments which I know helps tremendously along with them seeing me for unscheduled visits if I have a serious need.
I always feel very welcome there and appreciate answers to any questions or concerns that I have.
Best chiropractor I’ve ever been to! Dr. Blake is amazing! Detailed and explains what the cause of your symptoms are and then discusses a clear treatment plan. Two days I came into the office with a headache that Tylenol or Excedrine couldn’t resolve. Within 60 seconds of an adjustment, my headache was gone!! Amazing and highly recommended
Dr Vance is absolutely the best he not only heals me from my aches and pains he gives me back my reason to go on he listens to me no matter what the problem he helps thank you dr Vance

I had my first appointment this afternoon and had a great experience. The staff were all very friendly and created a welcoming environment. My first adjustment went smoothly, and I’m looking forward to my next visit.
Dr. Lexi has been an absolute angel! As someone who struggles with sacroiliac joint pain she has kept it at bay and helped my frequent headaches as well. Her adjustments make you feel instant relief. I’m grateful to have found Kirar Superior Healthcare.
I have been coming here for 15 years and Dr. Vance has always had my back (no pun intended - lol). The other doctors and staff are also incredible. I plan on utilizing their services for many more years to come and highly recommend this business for your chiropractic care.
Awesome group of doctors. Can tell them where I am hurting and they follow through to help ease the pain. They explain what and how they are going to do it. They make sure you know they are always there for you.
Lexi is my doctor at Kirar, she is responsive and listens to my needs and concerns. Her adjustments have been very helpful!
She helped identify that my hips were off balance because I have a slightly short left leg. She recommended a heel lift and I’ve found more relief and strength in ways I could not imagine. She’s also helped restore feeling in some of my fingers after a fall which cause them to feel numb for years.

She is great for all types but for me practicing martial arts and being fairly active - she has been especially helpful with aches, pains or injuries. I can’t recommend her enough!
All the doctors give 5 star care. They listen, answer your questions, are gentle, respectful, professional, and thorough. I feel so much better since getting my chiropractic care at Kirar!

I stumbled in a store the one day so hard it jolted my body later on that day my knee pained me I thought my meniscus was going out, pains kept shooting through my knee every few minutes I would scream out so I rested it with a band and stayed off of it and it helped me some. As soon as I got back in town the next day I went to the chiropractor who got me back walking correctly. I tried to avoid going so I took an Epsom salt bath I felt worse my whole Left side tingling and numb at my knee, my foot, my hand and Dr Blake is there on Saturdays, He explained The Epsom salt relaxed my muscles and I was able to feel pain more . He Tested my knee for meniscus tear and nothing was damaged!!. Yes!!! he adjusted me and got me back up literally walking as I usually do. All the team from front desk to the Doctors are very gentle and attentive in all areas and do a wonderful job they all do Dr Vance his wife Dr Jill All the 5 -star post I totally agree!!!
I’ve just started treatment here but the initial consultation and treatments have been informative, healing of pain level. This is a work in progress, but trusting the process. The staff is friendly and kind. The facility is new and well maintained. The rooms are spaced out and private. Healing hands. A CareCredit facility. Check back in after awhile.

Checking in after over a year of treatment and I thought just today, should have done treatment years ago. My body composition has changed, so much more conscious of my posture and its alignment. I feel my stature. I do realize it’s all things put together, diet, exercise, chiropractic care, one needs the other, not just one can do it all. Thank you Kirar Superior Chiropractic Care.
